Arunachaleswarar Temple, This temple is situated in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India, at the foothills of the sacred Arunachala Hill. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the goddess Unnamulai Amman. And this temple represents “FIRE” as one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalams.
This temple is said be build by Chola Dynasty and later by Vijayanagara Empire. This temple is famous for Karthigai Deepam, Held annually in November-December, this festival involves lighting a massive beacon on top of the Arunachala Hill, symbolizing Lord Shiva’s divine presence.


The Arunachala Hill itself is considered sacred, and many pilgrims undertake a spiritual circumambulation otherwise called as Girivalam of the hill as a form of devotion.
There are many shiva temples on the path of Girivalam. It is beleived that when one goes Girivalm around the Arunchala Hill his wish is full filled and that too on a full moon day.
